Ok, so here is how our lake looks after one week. Are we happy campers???
Yes we are!
As you can see, there is still a little snow in the foreground. It will take a little while longer to finish melting. The snow was deep in front of the north side of the house because the men shoveled it off the roof.
These tiny leaves are going to pop open the minute the sun decides to come back out. As Jim and I take our walks in the evenings, we have had a chance to observe things greening up. One day there was no green; the next day, the buds were beginning to open.

That's so encouraging! I love being able to get on here and see what Alaska is like right now. Just seeing the weather isn't the same as the actual ground. =)
